A Glimpse Into My On Air Presence, Energy And Storytelling
This demo Contains some of my Favourite on air moments. It includes a diverse, variety of topics that i love to Talk about it really Shows off what i am all about. my goal when i go on air is to always have that sunshine energy but to also Show up authentically, which can sometimes mean sharing Stories of a bad day or a bad moment because people want a human being to relate to not a happy always go lucky teddy bear. hence the more work i do on air i realize how beautiful the connection between a host and the audience is and how much responsilbity we carry to ensure people stay up to date with What’s going On around the city, what are the feelings we are all feeling and sometimes that can be as simple as oh man i really hate the rain. That’s it. people just wish to be understood and that’s always my goal when i go on air. to inform them of the latest fun activities that are happening locally and to entertain!
videography work
The Video Is A Collaboration With JDC West, A BCIT Club That Flies Out To provinces around canada For An Intense And Dynamic Three-Day Competition Where Teams Such Athletics, Finance, And Entrepreneurship Compete With Schools From All Across The Region. For The 2024 Event, The Theme Was “Through The Eras”, And Our Team Embodied The Resilience Of The 1940s. An Era Often Defined By Traditional Gender Roles And Limited Rights For Women.
We Decided To Take A Bold, Feminist Approach, Flipping The Narrative By Reversing The Traditional Power Dynamics Of The Time. In Our Story, Women Were Placed In Roles Of Authority And Leadership And Decision-Making. Through This Reimagining, I Wrote The Story To Challenge Historical Norms While Celebrating Progress And Equality, Tying The Concept To The Innovative And Forward-Thinking Spirit Of JDC West. me and my co director ensured the angles, the lighting and the Editing all reflected the essence of those times.
manraaj on the mic series (trailer)
“this series is a labor of love. purely made for the same reason i got into this career in the first place. because of my curiosity for people. in this series i stay behind the camera so the viewers get a first person POV of learning about the fascinating person that i choose for that segment. its got everyone from barber sukhchain who runs his own barber shop, to youth icon suhana gill to club promoter andrew kocchar to voiceover artist/dj danny to videographer yashraj who has covered the concerts of some of the biggest south asian stars. they all have fascinating stories, of struggle or ups and downs yet they still made it, so why Can’t we? hence in this series i try to understand what makes them different, what makes them happy, to get to know them on a deeper Level. a lot of research goes into designing the perfect questions for each person. a lot of time and effort goes into editing after to ensure the most important parts are highlighted so people leave enlightened.”
storytelling and editing
These videos are made from start to finish by me, with one intention to show off the event i am attending in the best light. i storyboard, i come up with questions, ideas, the narrative to ensure that the audiences feel as though they just watched the entire coverage within minutes all while being entertained. what shots to use, how to edit, music pacing, what To say, who to interview, what the caption should be. This is truly a one woman project that requires practice again and again to make it Beautiful, authentic, and Something a little unique. this style has become my signature Style. i am most approached because of this style of creating videos. that first person POV, the storytelling, along With the visuals can immerse you into the video. its absolutely my Favourite kinds of videos to do for events!
